Jewelry Making Process

Shaesby artisan jewelers handcraft every piece of jewelry in our Austin, Texas studio. The use of age old bench fabrication combined with the most recent technology enable a vast range of techniques. Great pride is taken in our jewelry making process. We are confident this will result in a unique and special piece for you.

Diamond Quality

We use consistently clear and beautiful diamonds in our jewelry, rated SI2 – SI3 quality, GHI color.

Ring Sizes

We are happy to provide a complimentary set of ring sizers at your request. Please send an email with your name and mailing address to web@shaesby.com.

Engraving

We can engrave a personal message on most rings. Each line of engraving is $20. We offer both block and script fonts. Please contact web@shaesby.com or 1.877.shaesby (877.742.3729) to be sure your ring can be engraved.

Order Status

You will receive a confirmation email when you place an order on shaesby.com. When your jewelry is shipped, you will receive a second email with tracking information. If you don’t receive these emails, or if you have other order status questions, please contact us at web@shaesby.com or 1.877.shaesby (877.742.3729).

Shipping

We will ship in-stock jewelry same day if we receive the order before 12:00pm CST. We are unable to ship to PO Boxes. Available shipping methods are as follows:

UPS Ground: 5-7 business days, excluding weekends and holidays
UPS Second Day: 2 business days, excluding weekends and holidays
Fed Ex Overnight: Arrives next day, excluding weekends and holidays (contact us about Saturday overnight delivery)

Holiday Shipping

The Shaesby office closes for major holidays so that our staff can spend time with their families. All orders received while our offices are closed will be processed on the day we return. Shaesby is closed for the following holidays:

Fourth of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving: November 24-25
Christmas: December 24-31
New Years Day

Packaging

Orders from shaesby.com include our customized packaging. We pack each item in an individual box with a durable soft pouch for convenient and safe storage of your jewelry. In addition to our standard gift-ready packaging, Shaesby would be happy to include a personal note or a candy favor at your request. Each shipment is padded and secured to ensure safe transit.

International Orders

We would be happy to ship your jewelry abroad in most cases. Please contact web@shaesby.com or 1.877.shaesby (877.742.3729) for orders outside the continental U.S.

Order Cancellation

You can request cancellation of your order while it is in the processing stage. Once the jewelry has shipped, your order can no longer be cancelled.

Returns

Shaesby accepts returns of non-customized jewelry for any reason up to 14 days after you receive it. Merchandise should be returned in new condition with a copy of the receipt. Shaesby reserves the right to deny a full refund if the merchandise is returned in an unfavorable condition. Shipping and handling cannot be refunded. Shaesby is not responsible for items damaged or lost in transit. It is best to insure all shipments and retain a tracking number.

Contact web@shaesby.com or 1.877.shaesby (877.742.3729) for shipping instructions and a return authorization number. Please clearly write the RA number on the outside of the package. Packages without an RA number will not be accepted.

Repairs

Shaesby is pleased to offer repair services on jewelry purchased from shaesby.com. Please contact web@shaesby.com or 1.877.shaesby (877.742.3729) for a repair authorization number. Repairs may require materials or labor charges and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Items purchased through other retailers should be returned for repair to the store of purchase.

Q: I’m looking for a gift but am having trouble making an appropriate selection.

A: We would be happy to assist you in your purchase! Please feel free to contact us for a personal consultation. If you still cannot select a piece, we also have gift cards available.

Q: I really like a certain piece but I want something modified.

A: Shaesby is always happy to work with you to make sure you get jewelry that is perfect for you. We can change the length of necklaces, attach special earwires or larger earring backs, or make other adjustments. We want you to be completely satisfied!

In most cases a special order will ship within 2-3 weeks, if not sooner.

Q: I’ve never purchased any fine jewelry online. How do I know I will like it?

A: We make every attempt to provide an accurate description of the jewelry on shaesby.com, from earring sizes and necklace lengths to total carat weight of diamonds. Often the luster of Shaesby jewelry cannot be communicated as powerfully online as in person. We believe you will be even more pleased with the beauty of the jewelry and the quality of craftsmanship when you receive your order than when you first fell in love with the items on our site.

If for any reason you are not fully satisfied, you can return like-new jewelry up to 15 days after you received it.

Q: I really love my piece of Shaesby jewelry. I wear it all the time, but it no longer looks as nice as when I bought it.

A: It’s natural for a piece of jewelry to wear with time. We are always happy to clean your items and brighten polish and texture on any piece of shaesby.com jewelry at no charge. We rhodium plate our white gold jewelry, which is standard in the jewelry industry. If your plated item begins to look worn, please contact us for replating pricing and instructions.

Q: I lost an earring. What can I do?

A: If you lost an earring or another part of jewelry, please contact web@shaesby.com or 1.877.shaesby. For single earring replacements, we request that you send us your remaining earring, so our experienced jewelers can match the item’s subtle nuances. Charges to remake the half pair or replace other lost items will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and will reflect the current market value of the jewelry.

Care Tips

Never wear your jewelry in chlorinated or treated water. The chemicals can permanently damage and eventually destroy gold and silver.

We recommend that you remove your jewelry before applying personal products like hair spray or lotion. These products can be harmful to jewelry and cause jewelry to need cleaning more often than usual.

To clean your jewelry at home, use hot water and mild soap or liquid laundry detergent. Scrub out lotion and dirt with an old toothbrush. If you have jewelry with cord or leather, please contact us to return them for cleaning.

You can use a polishing cloth on the shiny areas of your jewelry, but polishing cloths will darken Shaesby’s satin finish rather than brightening. Our sales associates use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers to brighten satin finish on Shaesby jewelry while they are on the road.

Commercial jewelry dips and polish can be used at your own risk, but may damage some softer stones like pearl, turquoise, vesuvianite, peridot, and possibly others. After using any chemical jewelry polish, be sure to rinse your jewelry thoroughly. Remaining chemical traces can damage metal and stones.
